We are Partners, Unlimited.We are looking forWe are looking for an experienced and self-driven Key Account ManagerThe role is based in Rotterdam.Mission and Brief of dutiesThe main objectives of the Business Developer are to develop new business on both the existing business portfolio and new business; as well as customer retention.Your main responsibilities are:

  • Develop new commercial opportunities by conducting new projects, new proposals and new solutions
  • Play an integral part in generating new sales that will turn into long-lasting relationships
  • Ensure technological and competitive intelligence working closely to marketing direction and business lines to develop Gefco offer in line with market needs
  • Handle customer relationship on whole sales process (prospect, conclusion, implementation, retention and payment)
  • Evaluates customer risk: completes market research on a prospective client (activity, organization, economic performance, credit worthiness, etc.) and monitors client information
  • Collect and analyse existing customers' needs and promote additional services and new solutions with customers portfolio
  • Serve as the link of communication between customers and internal teams
  • Resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust
  • Prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders using account metrics
  • Regularly update sales database and analyses/comments on activity monitoring reports.
  • Monitor terms and conditions of commercial contracts within his or her area of activity.
  • Assess the technical, commercial and financial feasibility of the needs and requirements of a client.
  • Work with colleagues across various business areas in order to respond appropriately to client needs and to achieve personal and company objectives.
  • Participate in formal tender process
Our successful candidate will ideally have the following skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, sales, or other relevant field; Master’s degree preferred
  • Four to five years’ previous work experience in sales, management, key account management, or relevant experience
  • Extensive knowledge and experience on global ocean freight
  • In-depth knowledge of forwarding industry
  • In-depth understanding of company key clients and their position in the industry
  • Able to analyze data and sales statistics and translate results into better solutions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all organizational levels
  • Ability in problem-solving and negotiation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be a listener, a presenter, and a people-person
  • Strong negotiation skills, with ability follow-through on client contracts
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Goal-oriented, organized team player
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Basic computer skills, and experience with CRM software and Microsoft Office, with emphasis on superior Excel skills
